Apple Pressing One Tree Hill Allotments Sat 5th October

From the One Tree Hill Allotment Society:
"We will be making apple juice on Sat 5th October 1pm until 6pm. Come and help press apples and taste fresh juice. Please wear old clothes and decent footwear as the event is outside. All ages welcome, but children must be supervised directly at all times. Free event - welcome to bring snacks to share. Entry by top side gate on Honor Oak Park, SE23."

Harvest Festival - with a difference! 12th October

St Augustine's, One Tree Hill is holding a Harvest Community Show on 12th October between 11am and 4pm. There will be plenty to see and do including a food hall (with jam, cheese, meat, breads for sale), a craft room, City Farm animals and a pop up vintage cafĂ©. Chelwood Nursery - places still available!

Chelwood Nursery on St Norbert Road, SE4, still have places available to start this month. They accept families from SE23 and are providing 15 hours of free early learning for 3 and 4-year-olds. They're also rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted. Please see their site for more information.

Kids art workshops at Doopo Doopo

Doopo Doopo in Dartmouth Road are running art classes every sunday between 11am and 12.30pm for children aged 3 and older. Each week a different artist will introduce children to a different technique - oil painting, ink blowing, decoupage, card making, marbling, collage and much more. HOP Sainsbury's opening 12th September

The much-debated Sainsbury's Local is opening in Honor Oak Park this Thursday at 7am. For many families in HOP the free cash machine is the most exciting thing! That and being able to buy fresh meat and fish...


Croftfest! Saturday 28th Septmber

Okay so it's not technically SE23... but close enough for a mention! The local shops and businesses of Crofton Park are organising a mini festival including activities such as face painting, children's book reading and a treasure hunt. Something to do with the littlies on a late September weekend!


Family Learning Festival

What: A one-day family learning festival suitable for all ages, highlighting the value of family learning. there will be educational workshops, taster sessions and talks. Walters Way Open House



When: Sunday 22nd Sept,1pm to 6pm
Where: Walters Way, SE23 1PP
What: Walters Way is self-build scheme by pioneering architect Walter Segal and one of Lewisham council's housing projects. Segal wanted inexperienced builders to build their own homes quickly and efficiently, building a sense of community in the process.
